What should I be when I’m older?
I am starting year 10 this year and I have no ambition in life. I feel I need some sort of future to work towards otherwise I could end up with a job and lifestyle I don’t appreciate! I chose my options purely on the basis that they’d look good on my CV. I’m in top set for maths (8a), english (7a) and science (7a); I’m really good at art (grade 8a) and music (not sure what level); I’m taking French (i’m in top set around level 6a/7); and long course R.E – Philosophy and Ethics and I’m hoping to start the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award next year.
(people from UK will understand what I’m on about with the levels)
I’ve gone through stages of wanting to be a chocolatier, a chef, an artist, a personal shopper and even an accountant but they all seem to boring. I want an ambition that includes meeting and helping people but also has a touch glamor (not like acting or modelling though)!
Any ideas…?
I had the same problemm always gifted but not sure firstly don’t be forced into anything by anyone! i had the fortune of picking a course without research that actually really interested me and now i am moving on to university doing architecture. I dont believe that anyone is born into a specific career no1 was born to do anything, the best thing to do is start reading up on different careers and see what takes your fancy.
It all comes down to what you want to gain in your career is it money, job satifaction or another reason. If your cant make up your mind then take A levels in maths english science as they can lead to anything.
Remember a career isnt for life you can always change look at anyone in the world they usually did something different before the job they had
