Why can’t I add my itunes music to windows media player?

I brought some music from itunes and i tried to get them onto my windows media player but could not. However I have downloaded some music from limewire and somehow unintentionally they ended up in my itunes library and i have been able to to play and put these on my windows media player. I can see the purchased itunes music in the music folder in my computer but cannot seem to get them to windows media player. The reason I want to move the purchased itunes music to the windows music player is so that I can drag those tracks to my Sony mp3 which a shop assistant told me I could do. What am I doing wrong?

The reason the tracks purchased from iTunes will not show up in Windows Media Player is that the audio format sold by iTunes is not compatible with Windows Media Player. You will need to convert the iTunes tracks in order to get them into Windows Media Player. There are a ton of free audio converters available out there. I have had good results with this one: http://download.cnet.com/Free-Mp3-Wma-Converter/3000-2140_4-10442362.html?tag=mncol
